Get ready to mix, pour, and create something amazing! In this hands-on Kids Candle Making program, young crafters will learn the basics of candle making from start to finish in a safe, guided, and age-appropriate way. We’ll explore how candles are made, then walk step-by-step through melting the wax, adding color and fragrance, pouring the candle, and learning what makes a candle turn out just right. To celebrate the sights and smells of spring, each child will design their own custom candle and choose from two deliciously fun fragrances: Blueberry Jam, bursting with juicy berries and a hint of sweetness, or Sicilian Sea Breeze, a fresh and breezy scent inspired by sunny citrus gardens along the Italian coast. Candles will be poured into beautiful blue containers, and best of all - kids get to take home the candle they made themselves! This creative experience builds confidence, introduces basic kitchen and craft skills, and lets kids express their creativity while making something they’ll be proud of. Program Cost: Free

A true story of resilience and love. “For the Love of Stephen is my debut memoir - a heartfelt, honest, and often humorous tribute to my remarkable brother, Steve. Born with intellectual and developmental disabilities, Steve defied society’s expectations and transformed every life he touched. More than a family story, this book is a journey of love, resilience, and the unshakable truth that Steve was never broken. I wrote it for anyone who believes that every life has meaning, every voice deserves to be heard, and every story is worth remembering.” Dr. Stuart D. Jones is a retired higher-education executive and former church minister who now teaches college courses part-time and writes with a passion shaped as much by life as by books. Over the years, he has spoken at many universities, churches, conferences, seminars, workshops, and leadership events around the world on a variety of topics. A devoted advocate for disability rights, he believes every life has purpose and worth. Join Dr. Stuart as he leads an interactive presentation about For The Love of Stephen, and selected readings from the book. There will be a meet and greet with the author along with a book sale and signing at the end of the program. Program Cost: Free |

Join us in Downtown Wabash for May's First Friday! A Leadership Development Wabash County team is working to raise funds to help stock the fishing ponds at Josiah White's residential campus. Come out, show your support, and help make a splash for a great cause! The students at Josiah White’s enjoy fishing during their recreational time. Unfortunately, the fish population in these ponds has declined and needs to be restored through pond maintenance and restocking. Fishing is more than a recreational activity for these students- it is a powerful therapeutic tool. For teens who have experienced trauma, time spent at the water’s edge offers stillness, patience, and a sense of calm. As casting and waiting helps regulate the nervous system and reduce anxiety, it also helps build confidence and self-esteem as students develop a skill, experience small victories, and take pride in their accomplishments. Perhaps most importantly, it provides a peaceful, low-pressure environment where meaningful connections can form between peers, between a student and family teacher, and between a young person and nature. For youth navigating the effects of trauma, these moments of connection and quiet achievement can be profoundly healing. We would greatly appreciate your support to help us reach our fundraising goal. You can contribute through participating in our cornhole tournament or making a donation. Registration: -$20 per two-person team -Teams will go through a single-elimination bracket. Pre-registration is recommended, as on-site registration may be limited.
